Start with the activity you want to do
Lead generators find interested homeowners. Canvassers usually start those conversations face to face. Appointment setters help turn interest into a scheduled conversation. Closers work through consultations, proposals, and sales documentation. A new-rep path is a conversation about where your current skills fit.
Choose based on the work you want to learn, rather than a headline earnings claim. If you enjoy meeting people but have never delivered a proposal, explain that. You can discuss more than one path without claiming experience you do not have.
Translate your experience into examples
Retail, hospitality, customer service, scheduling, fundraising, and other sales work can provide useful examples. Prepare one story about earning someone’s trust, one about handling a difficult question, and one about following through.
Describe what you did and what happened. You do not need to share customer names or private information. If this is your first customer-facing role, explain why the work interests you and what you want to learn.
Ask for a specific learning plan
Ask who teaches the product, how practice works, whether you can observe an experienced rep, and who answers questions in the field. Discuss how progress is reviewed and when you would take on more responsibility.
Clarify whether training is paid, what equipment or travel you need, and whether the arrangement is employment or independent contracting. Do not treat a general recruiting page as a promise of paid training or benefits.
Choose a workable Florida footprint
Pick a primary city and name nearby communities you can reach consistently. Consider the travel time between appointments as well as the time spent talking with homeowners. If you are moving to Florida, include your expected arrival date and intended home base.
Prepare a useful application
Select the path that interests you, your intended market, your actual experience, and a realistic start preference. Use the notes for a short introduction and your most important questions. After submission, you can choose a conversation with Jared through Google Calendar.
